Kickoff Summer with Music and the Market

June 03, 2019

Each year, the month of June heralds the beginning of the summer season, and for many, the start of summer vacation. June also finds the city of Wabash chock-full of entertaining events, and one of our favorites is the Honeywell Center’s Summer Plaza Music Series, featuring the Eel River Band. Start your summer off on a high note with these ongoing free concerts every Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Plaza. June’s lineup features the Eel River Band on June 6, Three to One on June 13, and Island Vibe on June 20. A bonus show on June 27 in the Ford Theater will showcase the Mississinewa Valley Band Patriotic Pops at 7:30 p.m.

Summer is also a terrific time for a visit to the Wabash Farmers Market if you’re in the mood for fresh sweet corn, fragrant cantaloupe and watermelon, and red ripe tomatoes. Open every Saturday morning through October in downtown Wabash, the market’s theme is “Homemade & Homegrown,” and offers fresh honey, baked goods, and produce, along with artist’s wares, handmade soaps and furniture, live entertainment, and so much more.
